First let me tell you this, I am a 9 year eBay employee, and the first 5 years I spent in the Trust & Safety dept, so I know what to look for.

First, buy from a seller who has great feedback and sells Ipods regularly. Just because they have 1 negative from a disgruntled buyer doesn’t make them bad, but knowing how they treat their customers, speed in shipping and customer service speaks volumes.

ONLY pay with PayPal. It is the ONLY payment method where you have any protection if something goes wrong. If anyone tries to tell you different, they are lying.

As far as bidding goes, I suggest going to bid exactly what price you want to pay for the item regardless of where it is in the bidding process. Ask yourself this question - “If I got outbid by one dollar, would I be mad?” If your answer is yes, then you obviously didn’t bid what you are truly willing to pay.

While you want a deal, you certainly don’t want to overpay either. If you search our completed auctions, you can see what the going price is and you’ll know if your bid is realistic. If you are going to try and low-ball it and get a steal, just be sure to buy from someone reputable with good feedback and return policy.

eBay is fun and a great way to save money if you know the basics. There are some buying guides on our help pages to teach you some basics too.

I hope you get a great deal!
